Print making
1. Describe the craftsmanship of your prints. (How good the project is technically crafted)
-registration and carving
I think the registration is not the best, but the carving on the bridge turned out very well and detailed.
-burnishing and ink coverage
Both turned out very well, there was one piece that didn't have the best ink coverage, but I fixed the remaining prints .
2. How did you use texture, color harmony and balance to define your vegetables?
-texture
I did not use the most texture, but I did end up adding some to the sky area and the ink coverage added texture as well.
-color harmony
I used different shades of blue and green that complimented each other.
--balance
The colors are all (mostly) complimentary and the placement of the bridge adds balance to the piece.
3. If you could recreate your pieces what would you do differently to enhance your final outcome?
I would have added way more texture to certain areas, which was something my pieces definitely lacked.

clay food
1. Describe the craftsmanship of your sculpture. (Is it neat and well executed?)
I don't think it's my neatest work, but overall I think it's very well executed. (Especially since
part of it broke off)
2. What was the most difficult part of this project?
It was very difficult to blend the colors to make the Popsicles appear as if they were actually melting together.
3. Did your color choices work together harmoniously?
I chose red and blue so that it was easy to create the purple that would become the Popsicles melting together. I think the two colors did work harmoniously.
4. Is your sculpture interesting from all views?
Yes, I even included another Popsicle on the back so it wasn't just one plain in the center.
5. Describe the differences in constructing a sculpture and doing something 2D.
Even though it is 3D, you still have to include value. The main difference however, is that it has to look realistic from all angles.
6. How did you create textures in your sculpture?
I used the sponge and pressed it against the clay to create the icy-looking effect.
7. Does your sculpture look like the actual food? How did you accomplish this?
I believe it does. I put a gloss coating on it and that really helped it look real and like it was actually melting. I even included the Popsicle sticks to make it look even more realistic.
8. What would you do differently if you were to do this project again?
I would make sure I score and slip very well before firing my piece.
Landscape in Style of Artist
1. Who was your referenced artist for the painting? Name 4 main ideas you used from your research to create your painting.
Name- Willem de Kooning
1. Expressionilism
2.abstract
3.bright, unusual colors
4.uneven paint, rough texture
2. Describe the craftsmanship of your painting. (Is it neat and well executed?)
I think it is well executed in the way that if it very similar to the artists' technique. Even though technically his art wasn't "neat", by painting is in the sense that that it's very much like his technique.
3. What was the most difficult part of this project?
The most difficult part was trying to get the same textures that De Kooning used in his paintings.
4. Describe your color choices and how they reflect the work of your chosen artist?
I used very bright and unusual colors in my piece. De Kooning often did pretty realistic paintings of women, but painted them and the background as unusual colors. (Ex. Green skin, purple lips)
5. Describe how the style of your landscape reflects your chosen artist.
The style is very similar in the way that the girl in my slinging is missing certain body parts, and it's very abstract, just like De Koonings.
6. What do you think your chosen artist would say if he or she could see your painting today?
He would probably be able to tell mine was inspired by his paintings.
7. What would you do differently if you were to do this project
I would have used his other painting style, which was very abstract, instead of his portraits of women.

Self Evaluation
Self Evaluation
- Describe the craftsmanship of your drawing. (Is it neat and well executed?)
- I think it is executed fairly well but i also think i could have made some of the lines neater.
- Do you think you used a full range of values to create the illusion of depth?
- I believe i used many colors to create depth. I think i did well especially on the center of the peacock feather, which was very challenging, so i'm pretty proud of it.
- How do you think you represented the style of the artist Georgia O’ Keeffe?
- Instead of doing far away feathers, i zoomed in very close. I made sure to include the small details and all of the depth and layers of feathers.
- Describe your choice of colors/color harmonies and how you used them throughout the artwork.
- I used the whole color spectrum in my piece, but i made sure they all fit together. Even though they were all different colors i made sure i blended them very well, otherwise it would've looked very messy.
- How did you create contrast in your drawing?
- I created contrast by using very bright and vibrant colors on a dark background. By doing this i really made the feathers pop.
- How did you use textures, highlights and shadows to enhance your artwork?
- I actually barely used any highlights and shadows in my piece, which is something I need to work on. I did however use the pencils specifically to create the texture of the feather.
- Describe any difficulties you had creating your drawing and what you could do to improve your drawing?
- It was VERY difficult for me to make the feathers look realistic, and also to blend all of the colors together. I think i could've improved this by using lighter colors, (like whites) to show highlights and shadows.

Up Close Planning
Apples/Cans Drawings
We practiced by drawing and painting apples using different color schemes including cool, warm, complementary, and monochromatic.
We also practiced with oil pastels by drawing a can. It was very s\challenging to get the right blending of colors and shading.
Perspective Drawing
Your name: Sarah Bond
- Discuss your decision on pen and ink or pencil techniques. Why you chose to use one or more.
- I decided to use pencil because it would be easier to fix mistakes. I used cross hatching and mostly hatching to shade my piece. I chose these two because i found them the easiest to use, and it also they worked with my piece well.
- How is texture important in your composition?
- It was very important to show the proper lighting and shadows. Since the house itself is very angular and straight, the shading/texture had to be used to show depth and detail.
- Why is value so important in this project?
- Value shows depth which is very important to perspective. Perspective is all about depth and you wouldn't be able to tell from what perspective you were looking from without the use of shading.
- Did you use correct perspective? How did you show depth with perspective? Were the mini lessons helpful in developing and completing your final piece?
- I used two point perspective in my piece. I showed depth with detailed shading and proper sizing of each element of the house. The mini lessons were very helpful, especially when it came to drawing lines and connecting them.
- Describe your craftsmanship (How good the project is crafted technically)
- My piece looks very similar to my actual house, so yes i think i did very well.. The lines are very straight and even and the detailing is very good in my opinion.
- If you could recreate your piece what would you do differently to enhance your final outcome?
- I would have added more value to the sky and yard area. I think that would've helped even more with the perspective aspect.
- As a growing artist how do you think what you have learned will guide and better your future projects.
- I think i have learned a lot about shading and detailing and it will help me very much in further projects.
shading and value charts
We learned how to shade with pencil and achieve and darker value. We practiced shading different shapes with a light source.
Pen and ink
We practiced different pen and ink shading techniques. We also filled in separate value charts for each shading technique. We also shaded different shapes with pen.
Overlapping drawing
We had to draw a picture of the two objects placed on our table, and each picture turned out different depending on what perspective we each saw it from.
Pen texture drawings
We had to cut out different textures from a magazine, and try to draw them using pen and ink. This helped us learn how to locate values and practice shading techniques.
Perspective Planning
we had to brainstorm different perspectives we could draw. We then chose our two, sketched both and even included reference pictures.
